Kathy Ikerd’s paintings in oils or acrylics range freely between exactness, looseness, energetic brushwork and a passion for color. “I like to challenge myself and in that that sense my art continues to evolve but always with the underlying love of working with color. Creating from my mind is the most enjoyable and creative experience for me and overall figurative work is easily my favorite subject to paint.”
Kathy studied art at Ventura College with a lifetime interest in design. She shows her work at Buenaventura Art Association and is a longtime student of figurative drawing. Recent solo shows include Jonathan’s at Peirano’s, E.P. Foster Library, and Buenaventura Art Association. She is the recipient of several honors and awards for her paintings and is also a member of Ojai Center for the Arts, Santa Paula Society of the Arts and California Art Club.
