In 2007, Buenaventura Art Association held their first ever "Framed Giclee Open Competiton" at the urging of member Judy Klement. Giclee's are a valuable contribution to art collectors of all levels -- they are archival and many times it's difficult to tell the original from the giclee. Giclee's are affordable, high-quality prints for the discerning buyer.

Jim Costello, the founder of Valley of the Moon Giclee and Fine Art Publishers, is the juror for the competition. He is an artist , photographer, and illustrators agent, who for 15 years worked on over 150 national and international ad campaigns for major and independent motion picture studios.
His professional resume includes Raging Bull, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Superman 2, Scanners, Creepshow, and Ruben Ruben, as well as many others.
As a consultant to Paramount Pictures Jim supervised the creation and installation of over 30 photographic billboards displayed on Hollywood’s famous Sunset Strip.
A pioneer in the introduction and sales of digital retouching , computer design and imaging to the entertainment and graphic design industries in Los Angeles, Jim is responsible for the introduction, implementation and sales of the first digital asset management system for still images to Sony Pictures Television.
To this day, Jim continues as a consultant to Sony Pictures Consumer Marketing Group for large format and trade show projects.
Currently working on projects for noted artists Bette Midler and Cher, he remains in the forefront of the Entertainment Industry.
